World Literature Curricular Design and  Educational Consulting

WHO WE ARE

Educational Consulting for a Transformative Curricular Design

The Pedagogy4lit Collective is a diverse group of professional foreign language educators specializing in teaching language, literature, and culture that are trained to facilitate intercultural learning, who believe in the importance of promoting diversity in all of its forms and fostering equity in the classroom. Through an intentional curricular design meant for teaching literature in the target language and the conscientious use of an anti-discriminatory teaching approach, the Collective believes we can better facilitate the development of intercultural communicative competence in our students and ourselves. We want to help our  colleagues meet the challenges of today while we prepare for the future of  World Language teaching by offering guidance in the preparation of first-rate  materials for the transfer of critical thinking skills.

The Pedagogy4lit Collective offers learning opportunities for educators  to transform what you teach to be accessible, relative, and collaborative to everyone, making your teaching more impactful in the classroom. We can help individuals and their institutions learn about intercultural teaching to integrate it seamlessly into existing literature and culture courses.

The Pedagogy4lit Collective offers private consulting, webinars, workshops,  and mini-webinars in the form of PowerPoint slides for self-guided instruction, professional development and courses for universities, colleges, language departments, support staff, teaching assistants, and language educators to facilitate the design of teaching curricula that support the global mindset for which we all strive.  We provide one-on-one consulting at all levels of the educational process for educators, curriculum coordinators, administrators, textbook designers/authors, and publishers specializing in Higher Ed. We provide our clients the knowledge and the tools that will help  both educators and language learners make more meaningful connections with other cultures of the world, while improving their critical thinking, and broadening their cultural perspectives.

We encourage and endorse the World-Readiness Standards  of the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages; the development of personal Intercultural Communicative Competence for both educators and students; the importance of developing a global mindset in a student-centric atmosphere in all classroom settings; the integration of anti-racist and anti-discriminatory language in the language curriculum, teaching philosophies, teaching activities, and course objectives; and the use of culturally responsive pedagogies for the promotion of critical thinking skills. We have the skills and knowledge to meet our needs for promoting equity in the language classroom and we want to share them with you.

Whether you are redesigning a single course or transforming your department’s entire literature curriculum, we can guide you and your colleagues through the process.

What is the D.I.E.+C. Strategy?

Describe, Interpret, Evaluate, & Create

A Four-Step approach to a culturally responsive reading of World Literature

The D.I.E.+C. Strategy™

Describe | Interpret | Evaluate | Create

The D.I.E.+C. Strategy™  is the proprietary pedagogical foundation developed for the advancement of world language literacy. This framework empowers learners to move beyond surface-level comprehension to deep, critical engagement with L2 literature.

Through the Pedagogy4Lit Collective, we offer a range of professional services centered on this framework, including, but not limited to:

 * Consulting Services about Education: We partner with institutions and departments to integrate the D.I.E.+C. Strategy™ and other pedagogical frameworks into existing language programs.

 * Education Services & Training: We provide specialized training for educators in the field of world language literature, equipping teachers with the tools to implement the D.I.E.+C. Strategy™ effectively.

 * Curricula Development: We provide comprehensive curricula and instructional materials designed in connection with the D.I.E.+C. Strategy™  to enhance student outcomes in the L2 classroom.

The D.I.E.+C. Strategy™ is also the foundational pedagogy of the forthcoming textbook, A toda voz: enseñando literatura hispana en contexto (Routledge, 2027).
